Sister Trip Part 1 ~ Houston March 2023

Sister trip in Houston at the Airbnb

This trip, my sister and I decided to hit up Houston and New Orleans in one fun sister trip! We went in March and the weather in both cities was really good; we went to Houston first and then we went to New Orleans. I’ve been to Houston before, but not New Orleans and she has been to New Orleans but not Houston. So we each decided to show each other the cities of our favorite places and check out new places we hadn’t been to!

Even though I had been to Houston before, I didn’t notice how big of a city it actually is. Because of that, it’s not a very walkable city. We had to take Ubers everywhere when we went to activities and going to the restaurants. Not complaining about that, we didn't have any crazy expectations when we got to Houston. We stayed in a really cute Airbnb and it was about 9 minutes from downtown. It was a one bedroom, one bathroom with a nice living room, dining room, and galley kitchen. Super cute! I loved the vibe and there was an adorable flower wall where I took a bunch of pictures in front it.

We got to Houston pretty early in the day and we didn’t want to waste the evening so we went to The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. One thing about her and I: we loveee going to museums!! I love learning about the art pieces, items from history, and letting curiosity run wild in my head about how these museums got all of items that they have. And the fine arts museum there is really big, it’s composed of 3 different buildings and has multiple floors in each building. There was a lot of really beautiful art pieces to see that we got pictures in front of!

Of course, we had to check out more of the good eats while we were there. A couple of my favorite restaurants that we visited was the Breakfast Klub and J- Bar- M barbecue. The Breakfast Klub was so good! I had it the last time I was in Houston with my friends and I wanted my sister to try it too. We also could not be in Texas and not go to a barbecue spot, so we went to J- Bar- M barbecue. This was really good too!! They usually have live music playing in the evening time but we went a little bit after they opened so we didn’t see any live music happening, but the positive vibes were still there :) We wanted to try a variety of meats so we each got the 2 meat plate which came with 2 meats and 2 sides. It was so amazing, we loved it!!

Honorary mention: Wild Concepts | Coffee Bar Dispensary. This was a coffee bar that had food and drinks that you can infuse with either CBD or THC. One part of the coffee bar was a dispensary where they were selling all kinds of products like pre rolls, gummies, both CBD and THC products. There was a seating area in the middle and then on the other side is where you ordered drinks and food. We decided to get CBD infused lattes, she got the Honey Bun and I got the Purple Haze. They were so good, not too overpowering with the CBD infusion. The vibe of the place was everything, right up my alley! It was definitely my favorite place that we went to in Houston :)

I loved Houston! Again I’ve been before with my friends and I was ready to go back so when my sister asked where I wanted to go I knew I wanted to see more of what Houston had to offer. But this was a trip where we went to multiple cities - click on over to read part 2 of our other half of our sister trip where we ended it in New Orleans!
