Cabo Trip ~ July 2023

Flora Farms After the Massage

I just got back from a nice vacation from San José del Cabo. This was my first time being in Cabo and I love this part of Mexico! It’s super hot but without the crazyyy humidity and always sunny, (at least I thought it was going to be sunny for most of the trip.) There was essentially two parts to this trip: I took a 3 day solo trip where I stayed in San José del Cabo, I stayed in an Airbnb that had a rooftop pool and a really cute room for my stay. I absolutely loved it :) And then the second half of the week, my cousin was getting married in Cabo and all of us as a family went to stay in a resort. I overall enjoyed my trip to Cabo, but especially the first half where I was there by myself and doing all of the things that I wanted to do!

Like I said, I stayed in an Airbnb during my stay in Cabo and I stayed in the city of San José del Cabo. It’s such a cute city even though I was close to a touristy strip, there were still a lot of locals that lived in the area. When I was taking Ubers to go to the different cities, some of the Uber drivers were telling me that there are a lot of retirees that live in San José del Cabo vs Cabo San Lucas (where most people from the states that travel to Cabo go to.) It was definitely more quiet, calm, and chill in San José del Cabo and that was the exact vibe that I was going for. The Airbnb was really nice: there were 2 locked entrances that you needed to either get someone to buzz you in for or you type in a special code that’s different for everyone. The room itself was a super cute one bedroom with a nice open living room, dining room and connected to the kitchen. There were two full bathrooms in the apartment and the bedroom was cute and cozy. I will say if I stay at that Airbnb again, I would get one of the rooms that wasn’t on the first level because the windows of the apartment looked into the front entrance where people were walking in and the staff on the other side so I had to close the blinds for most of my stay there. I love the sun too much to be in a dark place where I’m staying! But overall I would totally stay there again because it was a nice luxury apartment, in the best location I could ask for and the apartment building had a rooftop pool that I was at every day that I was there haha.

For most of my solo trip, I did a ton of reading, journaling, reflecting, and eating the amazing food. I spent a lot of time at the rooftop pool of the apartment building because there wasn’t a beach close by. But I was fine staying at the pool for most of the time though because it was never too crowded up there. One of my more memorable experiences that happened while I was there was my journey to the Nobu Hotel and Restaurant. Nobu was about an hour and 20 minutes away from where I was so the Uber ride was long and expensive to get there, but it was worth it. I had the nicest Uber driver that was telling me about the history of Cabo, we were listening to Kali Uchis and he was showing me all of the picture worthy views. When I got to Nobu, I had already made a reservation and when I walked in… I was stunned! Both the hotel and the restaurant were so beautiful, I adore beautiful and elegant architecture of any kind anywhere. The restaurant had opened its windows and allowed the view of the ocean and sunset kissing each other to shine in all its glory as everyone ate their meals. The view of everything was breathtaking, however… the food was average. The food at the Nobu restaurant was okay, it wasn’t the best sushi I ever had. But it also was absolutely not the worst sushi I’ve had. Later on at the resort when I told my sister about Nobu she said “you pay for the view, not the food.” I still had a great night either way and I 100% ate all of that $100, slightly below average sushi but I still had a great night! :)

The other most memorable and fun experience I had while in Cabo was my experience at Flora Farms. Flora Farms is a beautiful 25 acre farm that has so many different activities that caters to anyone going there. They have shops there to buy clothes, they have a restaurant, there is a hotel, there is a spa by the pool where you can get an amazing massage experience ~ that’s what I did :) The staff there were super nice and went above and beyond for the hospitality that they gave when I got there for my massage. After I got there and checked into the spa, they walked me to the room where I got undressed and the masseuse started to do the massage. Of course, I did the deep tissue massage and I also added on the herbal soaking tub experience. Inside the massage room, there’s a back door that leads to a small enclosed space that has a tub for the soaking experience and a little seating area for you to relax. I felt so relaxed after the massage and also after the tub experience, I ended up just laying outside after I was done and sat and thought how grateful I felt about going on the solo trip and how I had such amazing experiences when I was there for my first solo trip: 10/10, highly recommend Flora Farms!

The later part of the week into the following week I was with my family at the Dreams Los Cabos Resort and Spa for my cousins wedding. It was such a beautiful ceremony and I’m happy for my cousin and his wife for their union together. There was a crazy hurricane that was by us and there was a lot of rain, but the wedding didn’t get rained out. I had such an amazing time in Cabo, Mexico: both for my solo trip portion and for the wedding ceremony with my family. It was so nice to see everybody and be together for a beautiful celebration!
