Miami Girls Trip ~ May 2024

This past May, my best friend and I decided to go on a girls trip to Miami! It was so fun for us to spend time relaxing on the beach, at spas, by the pools and eating really good food while we were there. I’ve been to Miami before, but never got to fully experience the city because I would only be there for a quick day and back on another flight somewhere else, but I was happy to experience Miami with my bestie this time! Our flight was early in the morning at 5:30AM so we had to get to the airport early. We were almost late lol, but we made it just in time with them boarding at 5:30AM because the flight was delayed! Really, I knew the Universe was waiting for us to get to the airport because her and I were meant to go on this trip haha! We had a straight flight to Miami (which was really nice) and we got there in the morning so we had the entire day to do whatever we wanted. We stayed at the Axel Beach Hotel and it was a great hotel! The location was amazing, right by South Beach and by a bunch of restaurants and easily walkable to different shops around the area as well! Our room had a balcony that was overlooking the pool and we loved waking up early in the morning and sitting outside and people watching from our room :)

At breakfast when we first got to Miami

After we settled in our room at the hotel, we used an app called Resort Pass to find a beach club to layout at. Resort Pass is really cool because different hotels and resorts will allow those who are not already staying at the hotel to have access to their services that they provide such as pool, beach, and spa access! It was the best because our hotel wasn’t on the beach and it didn’t have a spa so we were able to see the many options on the app for surrounding resorts and see which one we wanted to go to :) That day, we bought a day pass to the Savoy Hotel and Beach Club and sat out at the beach for most of the day. We had chairs and an umbrella, I loved how quiet it was on the beach and we were able to just fully relax on our first day there! Then that night we ended up getting dinner at one of the many restaurants along the South Beach strip.

The next day was super fun, we went to the Miami Design District! We stopped at Whole Foods on the way there because I wanted to get a pineapple kombucha (GT pineapple kombucha to be exact: that’s my favorite flavor, it’s so good!) Then we got breakfast at Pure Vida in the design district, it was amazing!! I got the croissant sandwich with a fruit salad and she got the overnight oats which also looked really good! Then we walked around and went into some shops in the district, like clothing and makeup stores. My friend also saw the Museum Garage that’s in the art district and we took some really cute pictures there too! Then it started to rain so we popped into an art museum while we waited for the rain to let up. The museum was called the Institute of Contemporary Art. It was three floors with such amazing art to see, again I love art museums and it was even better because the ticket to get in was free which is really cool!

Then we went to a more touristy and local area where there a lot of shops, restaurants and grocery stores. We went to a spiritual store called The House of Intuition, I had never heard of this store before but loved that we went inside! House of Intuition is a Latin and LGBTQ+ owned business that started in LA and has multiple locations in Miami as well as California. We got some crystals, incense, books, and we each even got a brief reading that was complementary :) We loved the store so much that we ended up going to another location right before we had to go to the airport on the way back from Miami, we loved it! Then we were both so excited to take a quick uber from that area to Joe and the Juice for the first time! Ever since this place blew up on TikTok months ago, I’ve been wanting to try it and I was excited when we got to Miami and there were Joe and the Juices everywhere! I got the tunacado with a green sport juice, both were fantastic :)

The next day was a chill and relaxing day for the both of us, we bought day passes to go to Carillon Miami Beach Hotel. The pass was a day pass and spa pass where we had full access to the spa and pool at the resort. When we got there, we ended up wanting to do massages and the front desk lady was so nice to give us a discount for two, one hour long deep tissue massages. Massages are great to get consistently because they help to not only relax tough muscles in your body, but it also helps to get rid of stagnant energy and move it out of your body to help you feel refreshed and restored. That’s exactly how I felt after the massage too! Then we both spent the rest of the day at the pool with food and drinks they had at the resort.

The last full day we had there, we went to another museum called Vizcaya Museum and Garden. We loved learning about the history of this museum in Miami, we took a ton of pictures everywhere! The entire estate was so beautiful to witness and experience being in. The home itself had so much natural light, plants, and the architecture was incredible to see. As well as the gardens outside that has been beautifully crafted and preserved so we could see as much of the beauty as we could from when it was first created. The pictures do more justice of showing the estates beautiful than my descriptions could do!

To end our girls trip in Miami, my friend wanted to do a boat tour of the celebrity mansions in Miami that’s by the water. I’m not going to lie: I’m not a fan of boats, cruises, ships, nothing like that. But I was totally up for going because it wasn’t a huge boat and I did want to do this because the tour was at night and we were able to see the city lights during the night time and I ended up loving it! I had such a fun time in Miami, I’m grateful that I was able to go on this girl trip with my very good friend! We hadn’t been on a trip together in a while so this was a super nice get away from home and a relaxing trip together. I’m excited for us to experience the next place :)
